Debuting in 2020 as a concept timepiece, the Diver NET diving watch swiftly made its way to the market, showcasing Ulysse Nardin’s innovative ethos while championing a core mission close to the Maison’s heart: sustainability. Through collaborations with cutting-edge start-ups and environmental advocates, the brand has dedicated its expertise to discovering novel materials and technologies, aiming to raise awareness about environmental stewardship. Continuing on this path, Ulysse Nardin unveils two ultra-dynamic creations this year, boasting a trendy and sporty-chic aesthetic: the Diver Net OPS and the Diver X Skeleton OPS, where “OPS” stands for “operations.” Following the successful launch of two Freak Ops models in 2023, these new avant-garde timepieces enrich the brand’s “Ops” capsule collection, celebrating its unwavering in-house watchmaking prowess while injecting an adventurous spirit into the Diver lineage.
DIVER [NET OPS]
The Diver Net OPS is an exquisite timepiece that exudes luxury and sophistication. It proudly holds the title of being the most sustainable sports watch with a manufacture movement available in the market. With an impressive water resistance of up to 300 meters, this timepiece is truly a testament to its exceptional craftsmanship. At the heart of this remarkable watch lies the automatic manufacture calibre UN-118, a true marvel of engineering. This exceptional movement boasts a remarkable 60-hour power reserve, ensuring that it will never falter in its precision and reliability. The balance spring, made from cutting-edge silicon, showcases Ulysse Nardin’s commitment to innovation and excellence. It is worth noting that Ulysse Nardin was the first to introduce this revolutionary material in 2001.
The escapement of the Diver Net OPS is coated in DiamonSil, a patented ultra-high tech form of diamond-coated silicon. This remarkable coating not only enhances the watch’s precision but also ensures its durability, making it a timepiece that will withstand the test of time. The case of this extraordinary watch is crafted from 95% recycled stainless steel, a testament to Ulysse Nardin’s dedication to sustainability. The combination of breakthrough materials used in its construction further showcases the brand’s pioneering spirit. The side parts and case-back are composed of Nylo® (60%) and Carbonium® (40%). Nylo, a polyamide formed from upcycled fishing nets, adds a unique touch to the watch’s design. Carbonium®, on the other hand, is a cutting-edge material known for its exceptional strength-to-lightness properties. It is produced using the same carbon fibers found in state-of-the-art aircraft wings and fuselages, further emphasizing the watch’s commitment to innovation. The dial of the Diver Net OPS is a sight to behold. In a sandblasted khaki green, it features a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock and a small seconds display at 6 o’clock. The large satin finished X embossed on the dial adds a touch of elegance and sophistication. In low light, the Super-Luminova® markings in beige emit a captivating green glow, further enhancing the watch’s adventurous spirit. To complete its bold and adventurous style, the Diver Net OPS comes with a fabric strap in khaki green, partly made from upcycled fishing nets. DIVER [X SKELETON OPS]
The audacious Diver X Skeleton OPS is a remarkable reinterpretation of a dive watch, transformed into a masterpiece of haute horlogerie. With a water resistance of up to 200 meters, the 44 mm Diver X Skeleton OPS showcases the brand’s extraordinary skeletonized automatic movement UN-372, revealing an oversized oscillator and a silicon escapement. Carbonium® takes center stage once again, not only adorning the concave unidirectional rotating bezel but also gracing the barrel cover at 12 o’clock, seamlessly extending its captivating aesthetic into the very core of the timepiece. The ultra-modern design is further accentuated by the imposing skeleton X structure that commands attention on the dial, while the sleek case, crafted from high-tech and lightweight titanium, is elegantly coated in black DLC.
